Pyromorphite
Description
The historic El Horcajo mines, in Ciudad Real, Spain, produced some of the finest and most distinctive Pyromorphite specimens during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These specimens are considered great classics of Spanish mineralogy and are highly appreciated by collectors worldwide. This is a very attractive old specimen featuring well-formed prismatic Pyromorphite crystals with excellent color and high luster. Some crystals are doubly terminated and display distinct color zoning. The mines have been closed for many decades, and classic specimens from this locality are now very difficult to obtain, generally reaching the mineral market through old collections. An excellent example from one of Spain's most celebrated classic mineral localities.
